Equally good steamed, sautéed, Manilas have made many a new clam lover. Ours are harvested every day and purged in seawater, so they are always fresh, plump, perky, and sand-free.
Nothing is more appetizing than Fresh Manila Steamer Clams! Use in pasta dishes, cioppino, soups — or just plain steamed with garlic and drawn butter!
Manila clams are known in the seafood industry for three things: best meat-to-shell ratio, most tender and sweetest clam. Steam clams with herbs, garlic and wine or take use of the sweet manila clam meat for dips and chowder. Upon delivery, place clams in an open container such as the netted bag they were shipped in and keep inside your refrigerator.
Do not keep store them in water or in a sealed container. Fresh manila clams; what more could you ask for in your bucket o’ steamers or your clams in linguine.
